La creazione si configura come un racconto, un movimento del corpo a corpo, che intende
amplificare e dare spazio alle possibilità intrinseche della lingua dei segni. A lungo marginalizzata e alienata da processi di potere fonocentrici che hanno tentato di abolirla nel corso della storia, la LIS è una lingua umana, viva, corporea; non parla di margini ma di nuove forme. Monumentum DA porta in campo la relazione fra lingua (i segni) e linguaggio (la danza), osservando l’erosione dei confini fra i due ambiti semantici. La LIS ed il corpo di Diana sono un archivio di documenti in continua trasformazione; potremmo chiamarli “monumenti linguistici” che formano un racconto in cui far confluire la politica di un corpo in uno slancio vitale - e così riconnettersi alla storia condivisa di una momentanea collettività. Si tratta dunque di riconsiderare i potenziali espressivi dei corpi tutti e aprire uno spazio in cui la diversità è puro ampliamento di possibilità.
La performance nasce già accessibile, contenendo nella sua forma le possibilità di essere fruita da un pubblico sordo e da un pubblico udente.

Cristina Kristal Rizzo, dancemaker di base a Firenze, è attiva sulla scena delle live Arts a partire dai primi anni ’90. E’ tra i fondatori dello storico collettivo Kinkaleri, con il quale ha collaborato attivamente attraversando la scena internazionale e ricevendo numerosi riconoscimenti tra cui il Premio Ubu e il premio Lo Straniero.
Dal 2008 ha intrapreso un percorso autonomo di ricerca coreografica verso una riflessione teorica dal forte impatto dinamico. Premio Danza&Danza coreografia contemporanea 2020 con la creazione TOCCARE the White Dance, alla creazione di opere coreografiche affianca un’intensa attività di alta formazione, scrittura teorica e cura di eventi, affermandosi come una delle principali personalità della coreografia italiana.
Diana Anselmo è artista e performer Sordo, attivista ed essere umano improvvisato. Bilingue LIS e Italiano, entra nel performativo con "Autoritratto in 3 atti" (2021) con repliche in Italia e non. All’estero esordisce con "Le Sacre du Printemps (2022)" di Xavier Le Roy. Ha esposto la sua prima mostra "Je Vous Aime" in Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo di Torino, ed è rappresentato dalla Galleria Eugenia Delfini di Roma, per cui ha esposto deafnotdead. Collabora dal 2023 come interprete con la coreografa Cristina Kristal Rizzo. È presidente di Al.DI.Qua. Artists, prima associazione in Europa di/per artist* con disabilità.
The creation takes the form of a narrative, a body-to-body movement, aimed at amplifying and giving space to the intrinsic possibilities of sign language. Long marginalized and alienated by phono-centric power processes that sought to abolish it throughout history, LIS (Italian Sign Language) is a living, human, bodily language; it does not speak of margins but of new forms. Monumentum DA explores the relationship between language (the signs) and expression (dance), observing the erosion of boundaries between these two semantic realms. LIS and Diana’s body are a continuously transforming archive of documents; we could call them “linguistic monuments” that form a narrative where the politics of a body converge into a vital impulse—thus reconnecting with the shared history of a temporary community. It is, therefore, about reconsidering the expressive potential of all bodies and opening a space where diversity is a pure expansion of possibilities.
The performance is inherently accessible, containing within its form the possibilities to be experienced by both deaf and hearing audiences.

Cristina Kristal Rizzo, a Florence-based dancemaker, has been active in the live arts scene since the early ’90s. She is a founding member of the historic collective Kinkaleri, with whom she collaborated internationally, receiving numerous awards including the Ubu Prize and Lo Straniero Prize. Since 2008, she has pursued an independent choreographic research path, combining theoretical reflection with strong dynamic impact. Winner of the 2020 Danza&Danza Contemporary Choreography Award for the creation TOCCARE the White Dance, she combines choreographic work with advanced training, theoretical writing, and curatorial projects, establishing herself as a leading figure in Italian choreography.
Diana Anselmo is a Deaf artist and performer, activist, and improvisational human being. Bilingual in LIS and Italian, she debuted in the performative field with Autoritratto in 3 atti (2021), performed in Italy and abroad. Internationally, she debuted in Xavier Le Roy’s Le Sacre du Printemps (2022). She held her first exhibition, Je Vous Aime, at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin and is represented by Galleria Eugenia Delfini in Rome, where she exhibited deafnotdead. Since 2023, she has collaborated as an interpreter with choreographer Cristina Kristal Rizzo. She is president of Al.DI.Qua. Artists, the first association in Europe of/for artists with disabilities.
